Ascot on the Turn…

I’ve suspected for some time now that there might be money to made from going high on the draw at Ascot, and I’ve confirmed that to be the case using my database. The criteria are pretty simple and are as follows:

Round course only (i.e. NOT the straight track)

2 to 6 year old males only

Drawn in the highest fifth of the stalls (e.g. 13-15 in 15 runner race)

First four in the betting

Just by applying these simple criteria, you'd have won 59 out of 245 bets since 1997, and returned a tidy 82.16 points profit. That's around £1,600 for £20 stakes on a strike rate of about one in four.
